Leadership and Governance

LGBTQI+ voices are systematically excluded from the rooms where decisions about their lives are made—be it in local government, community councils, or even within Civil Society Organizations (CSOs). This leads to policies and programs that do not address their real needs.

Our Strategic Approach: We identify and nurture emerging LGBTQI+ leaders. We provide civic education and peace-building training, equipping them with the skills to engage in governance. We then actively advocate for their meaningful inclusion in county assemblies, health boards, and CSO leadership, as we successfully did with the Kisumu County Health Act, 2020.

Ultimate Goal: To see LGBTQI+ individuals not just as beneficiaries of programs, but as elected leaders, respected advisors, and key decision-makers shaping their communities’ futures.
